Born and raised in Portsmouth, VA, Jim has made his home in Chesapeake for 35 years. Beginning his banking career with small loans in 1973, he expanded his knowledge to specialize in second mortgages and then grew to love the excitement of residential lending.

His loyal customers have followed him throughout his 27 years of home mortgages at financial companies in Hampton Roads, but he has now found his home at Old Virginia Mortgage. Jim’s reputation in the mortgage community is outstanding as he leads by example, not only listening to his borrowers but asking the right questions. He says, “OVM fits my style of business: I’m working for the buyer, not the company. If the buyer is happy, everyone is happy.”

Jim, and his wife Toni, have two grown children and enjoy spending time together as a family. He is an avid golfer and lover of good wine and great music.
